Skill & Strength

This class has a dual focus and is split into 2 equal parts:

  1. Accessory and compound movements to build foundational strength. This includes strength training to build ability in gymnastics and Olympic lifting. Think of this as your typical body building movements like bench press, weighted step ups, Bulgarian split squats, hip thrusters etc. Although this class might include your bench press, and squats, it will not include your Olympic lifts like the Snatch or Clean and Jerk. Our specialised Weightlifting classes will tackle that!

  2. The skill component of this class is where we will focus on learning new gymnastics skills and building efficiencies and volume in specific movements. This might include building volume or even speed in our handstand walks or perfecting the art of rope climbs. This is a great class to help focus on skills without the pressure of doing the movement in a WOD (workout of the day).

There is no Wod in the Skill and Strength class. The focus in purely on building skills and strength.

All our class form part of a structured and phased program. They complement each other and are not separate programs to each other. Each class is part of the same block phase of training to ensure one class does not impact the goal of our overall programming intentions. This means that if you attend all class variations, you are in fact accessing our complete pro-level programming. However, the separation of class’s also means that members who have specific goals can also prioritise various classes over the others to meet their needs.
